Two Chinese Painted and Carved Wood Figures. The first, a gilt and lacquered standing figure on an octagonal pedestal, clad in a loose-fitting robe, the face bearing serene expression with downcast eyes, the hair tied in two side buns; the second, a painted figure of Buddha flanked by two female figures atop double-lotus bases on rock formation, each wearing long flowing attire and holding a different attribute. {The first: 15 3/4 inches (40 cm) high; the second: 15 1/2 high x 10 3/4 inches wide (39.3 x 27.3 cm)}. Provenance: Property from the Richard I. Stone Estate. Condition: The first with a repair and losses to the neck, wear and cracking to lacquered surfaces throughout. The second with wear and associated losses to painted surfaces throughout.
