Dimensions: 2-7/8" H x 7-1/8" Dia. Chinese Qing Dynasty peacock blue glazed monochrome bowl. The porcelain potted with a shallow body, wide cavetto of a shallow vessel, with flaring opening lip, raised on a round slightly raised footing. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in the exterior masterfully covered in an even coat of a pale blue glaze which terminates at the base to reveal the pure white underglaze. The pale blue glaze creates a mottled effect around the rim which is likened unto the blushing of human skin. The foot rim reveals the cut edges during the making process, and the receded central interior base left white underglaze. The color is balanced, elegant and exquisite. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned. Mark on inner base, a six underglaze blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within double fine rings, Yongzheng Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
