Dimensions: 14-1/2" H x 7-1/2" Diam. Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Qianlong blue and white three-abundant motif vase. Finely potted in a baluster shaped vase, with tall ovoid body, rounded shoulder tapering gracefully to a prominent straight neck below the flared rim, slight banded on the neck to flaring round opening mouth, raised with flaring wide concave foot base rim. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in pale white underglaze base color which contrast against the cobalt blue fine color. The main body adorned with abundant lychee ripe fruits interspersed with fresh foliage. banded with repeating taotie mask on the shoulder and geometrically pattern on the lower main body. Auspicious motif, lotus flowers blooms, phoenix tails decorated each panel on the neck and the foot base rim, all banded with three bundle double fine blue rings lines. The Lychee or Lychee is best known for its white juicy fruit from late summer, the flesh of the fruit surrounds a large, gnarled kernel. In art it symbolizes summer and a wish for children. The latter wish gives it a role in the marriage celebration. If lychees are combined with water chestnuts they symbolize cleverness Ling li.
