Dimensions: 12-1/8" H Large Chinese Tibetan gilt bronze turquoise and red-coral inlaid Bodhisattvas Buddha figure of Vairochana, in appearance of Vairochana Abhisambodhi. The primordial buddha, personification of the Dharmakaya - truth body of enlightenment and progenitor of the Vajrayana system of Buddhism. Cast with Peaceful in appearance, serene face, with pendulous earlobes. Blue pigmented hair piled on the top of the head beneath five pointed crown, each point resembling buddha of the five families. The two hands raised slightly below chest level, perform vajra gesture. Necklaces and bracelets adorn the neck, with colorful semi-precious stones inlaid, and limbs and the lower body is wrapped with a skirt. Seated in vajra posture with the legs interlocked. Bronze is in beautiful condition with minimal marring of the surface.Extensive trace of gilt and deep blue pigments on hair. The reverse side of Buddha shows three rectangular cut-out, on shoulder, back, and hip, three precisely fitting bronze comes with the sculpture.
