此件器物为晚明器，大约在天启崇祯时期，纹饰清雅，绘画山水纹饰，清新亮丽。器物应为四方印池。明清之士尚慕风雅，复古之风盛行，此风带领之下，家居生活陈设成为文人雅士们关注的焦点，是而诞生了高濂《遵生八笺》、文震亨《长物志》之类记载文人清供的专门书籍，高濂之《燕闲清赏笺》中道“印色池以瓷为佳，而玉未能胜也”从中可知，印池宜以瓷器为受用。
