此尊佛像背部刻有铭文，大唐显庆年月日弟子李伯仁敬造，文字有部分遗失，采用上好的汉白玉为材，琢精湛工艺，历经数百年威严犹存，威风凛凛，韵味十足。体现了早期我国佛像雕刻工艺的精髓。释迦摩尼面部开阔，方圆脸庞，肩膀丰满，身披长袍盘座在莲花台上，衣服薄而贴身，衣纹流畅，犹如曹衣出水般。汉白玉是权贵人士所垄断的材质，唐代南诏时期以前， 一千多年前唐代修建的大理崇圣寺三塔，而且具有较高的工艺水平。历史上的皇宫陵墓如北京故宫和十三陵，均大量使用了汉白玉。汉白玉在建筑、雕刻上在中古时期使用较多，这尊则是一尊难得可见的中古汉白玉罗汉圆雕像，其丰满圆润的体型，是时代特征之一，保存至今艺术韵味非凡，极为难得。
