Rare Chinese 18 Century or Earlier White on Blue Porcelain Bowl with a design in white porcelain slip of 2 Phoenix Birds in clouds, the base with 6 character Ming Chenghua mark with double rings all in white slip, all backgrounds in a thick cobalt blue monochrome glaze. Mouth and foot ring now covered in silver bands. Height 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm.) X diameter 8 1/4 inches (21 cm.). PROVENANCE: The base with an Early 20 Century Ralph M Chait Gallery, "R. M.
