拍品以精铜铸作甪端兽首，制作工艺精湛，兽目鼓凸，炯炯有神，圆鼻朝天，挺括饱满，毛发丰盈，蜷于颈间，阴刻为饰，刀工细腻，瑞兽形容威严温和。“甪端”是中国古代传说中的一种神异之兽，与麒麟相似，头生一角，日行万里，通晓四方语言，为英明帝王传书护驾。元明清三代皆流行甪端题材，认为是天下一统、太平安定的祥瑞之兆。
