A LARGE JAPANESE GILT BRONZE FIGURE OF AMIDA BUDDHA MEIJI PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY His eyes lowered and with a serene expression, his hair cast in tight curls, seated in dhyanasana with his hands held before him in the mida no join position, the hem of his robes decorated with bands of foliate scrolls, raised on a large lotus throne, 45cm. (2) The mida no join is a Japanese variation of the dhyana mudra of meditation, where the index fingers are brought together with the thumbs.
