an antique, Chinese- Tibetan bodhisattva in the mudra of subduing Mara, in the style of the Ming dyn., but probably, Qing. The bodhisattva is covered in, what seems to be, a very old gilded copper color lacquer layer, showing the old bronze under the lacquer. at the crown there are losses at the left and right hand side. a crack on the right hand, floral laurite. on the left hand side of the base and right leg there are losses , due to age, metal fatigue to the base. the eyes were probably inlaid with silver, now the silver is missing. size 28x16.5x10 cm
