Description

博山炉为汉代铜器经典造型，《西京杂记》卷一有：“长安巧工丁缓者……又作九层博山香炉，镂为奇禽怪兽，穷诸灵异。”北宋吕大临《考古图》记：“香炉像海中博山，下盘贮汤使润气蒸香，以像海之四环。” 此博山炉为明代后仿，整体鎏金，盖作海中仙山，镂空用以散溢焚香。山顶伫立神鸟，冠羽飘飘。盖、器设钮鼻，可翻折开合。器口内敛，出榫口，口沿鎏银，半球形腹光素，下承树叶。炉座呈圆台形，颇为难得。
