This is a frontal section of a major shrine depicting 16 seated Buddha, all displaying the Dhyana Mudra (the symbol of deep mediation, concentration of the "Good Laws", and the attainment of spiritual perfection). Probably Late Ming Dynasty, 16th/17th century.
