拍品由端石制成，石质细腻。造型自然秀巧，淌池式，砚堂平坦，边起窄棱。砚背阴刻洞石芭蕉图，并书“用沱江本参以百耳砚田富翁大意”，后落“陈鸿寿印”四字款。附原配木盖，盖上刻书宋陆游《小园》诗句：“小园烟草接邻家，桑柘阴阴一径斜。卧读陶诗未终卷，又乘微雨去锄瓜。曼生陈鸿寿。”后钤“陈”、“曼生”双白印。陈鸿寿，号曼生，工诗文、书画，善制宜兴紫砂壶，人称其壶为曼生壶。书法长于行、草、篆、隶诸体。为西泠八家之一。
