BEAUTIFUL STATUE OF GUANYIN-AVALOKITESHVARA RIDING THE QILIN in lacquered and gilded bronze, the bodhisattva represented sitting in lalitasana on a lying qilin, the mouth gaping, the tail in plume, his right hand holding the lotus stem, a cup on the other side. He is dressed in a dhoti and adorned with precious jewellery. His serene face with half-closed eyes is surmounted by a five-pointed crown decorated with a small representation of Amitâbha.
(The lotus is missing, lacks lacquer, lacks at the back and at the base).
