The rectangular screen intricately carved on one side with groups of scholarly figures attended by acolytes in mountain settings with walled pavilions standing on rocky shore, on the bottom part depicting a boatman standing on a covered raft in a river estuary setting facing a large overhanging cliff face with pine, bamboo and willow trees growing from the crags, and a fisherman sitting along the shoreside accompanied by an elder scholar, all enclosed in finely carved wood border, the reverse gilt-painted with flower and bird scene.
