Chinese 19 Century Zitan Portable Writing Box carved to the outside with fruit, flowers and leaves in the style of lacquer carving with a small hole for suspension, the hinged cover to the top revealing an interior with a small metal ink well and a deep slot for a bamboo brush. Length 7 5/8 inches (19.4 cm.). Age related wear to carving, small, short shrinkage cracks and traces of old glue near suspension hole.
