GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF SEATED MANJUSRI QING DYNASTY, 18TH-19TH CENTURY ? ????????? seated in dhynasana on a double lotus base, right hand raised in abhaya mudra to the chest and left in varada muda to the abdomen, each hand holding a lotus stem extending up to arms to flank the shoulders with a sword of wisdom and a Prajnaparamita wisdom text, the graceful figure wears an elegantly draped dhoti secured with a beaded, festoon-hung sash, beaded necklaces, armlets, large circular earrings and an elaborate tiara with six foliate points surrounding his chignon, the base engraved with a crossed vajra (Dimensions: 34.5cm high) (Qty: 1) (34.5cm high) Footnote: Provenance: Private UK collection Condition report: rubbed and pitting to the gilding, chipped to the finial, cracks to the bunches of hairs and back of the neck, the base plate detached from the body.
