作者简介 卡尔·范·伟克腾（Carl Van Vechten，1880-1964）。美国作家和著名肖像摄影家。1903年毕业于芝加哥大学。1932年以后，他将主要精力集中于摄影。伟克腾曾为20世纪上半叶美国文艺和知识届的许多知名人士摄像，他拍摄的对象不仅包括了首位成功打入好莱坞的华裔女星黄柳霜以及著名华人作家林语堂，更包括了众多的非洲裔美国文艺界名人，在他的三千多件摄影作品中，有近一半为美国国会图书馆所收藏。
