铭：足以供士大夫于几案之间 曼生氏 陈曼生（1768-1822），清浙江钱塘（今余杭）人，名鸿寿，字子恭，号曼生，一号种榆道人，曼公，曼龚，夹谷亭长，胥溪渔隐等，善书法，篆刻，嘉庆二十一年（1816）左右，任溧阳县宰，好紫砂工艺，自绘紫砂壶十八图样，请杨彭年及杨之弟妹并邵二泉等制壶，自在壶上刻铭，称‘曼生壶’。有的壶铭由其门客及僚属江听香、高爽泉、郭频迦、查梅史等代书和代刻，凡此均署双款，即除有曼生款外，并有频迦等款。著有《种榆仙馆集》《桑连理馆集》等。
