此墨为“御制咏墨诗”集锦墨中的一枚，呈圆形，边缘开长方栏，正面中心边框内书阴文识金“御制咏墨诗”，两边饰双龙戏珠，布局对称规整，模印精细。背面以云蝠纹为背景，中央边框内有“养性殿藏墨”与“乾隆年制”款识，书法方正。原配彩漆嵌螺钿双龙戏珠盒，黑地上螺钿祥云及彩绘双龙戏珠，中央螺钿书“御制”二字，与圆墨呼应，更显皇家风范。参阅：（清）汪近圣《汪氏鉴古斋墨薮不分卷》，《续修四库全书•一一一四•子部•谱录类》，上海古籍出版社，2002年4月，页768。
