此件作品选用和田白玉，采取环套、挖膛、镂雕等工艺精心雕琢而成，整件由底足、身、盖儿三个部分套镶而成，器形胎体为瓜形，且上下开合，两侧采用深浮雕工艺雕琢鳥首双耳；整件作品端庄典雅、雍容华贵，刀法流畅、打磨精细；于20世纪80年代入藏北京工艺美术博物馆真精品部，并被定为现代工艺美术精品。
