金刚总持又称金刚持、持金刚，是藏传佛教各派修持较多的本尊之一。在绘画中金刚总持为深蓝身色，象征永恒不灭的佛性，无所不包。金刚总持造像存世较少，双身像尤为少见。拍品为金刚总持双身像，主尊头戴五叶宝冠，身着天衣帛带，腰间束长裙，全跏趺坐，双手拥抱佛母，在胸前结吽迦罗印，分别持金刚铃和金刚杵；佛母亦为相同装束，双手持嘎巴拉血碗和钺刀。佛母上半身与主尊分体铸造，衣饰均华丽优美，具有乾隆时期的典型风格，肌肤裸露处呈现原铜本色，宝冠、衣饰、莲台等处鎏金均保存良好。
