A pair of First Period Worcester 'Lord Rodney' pattern dessert plates: each painted in the Sevres manner with colourful birds in extensive watery landscapes with trees, birds in flight and insects, the scalloped blue ground rims with gilt scrollwork and dentil bands, open crescent marks, circa 1780, 21.5 cm diameter.* Notes commonly referred to as the 'Lord Rodney' pattern as a service of this pattern was at one time in the possession of the celebrated British Admiral.
