Lg Thai White Soapstone Seated Buddha with a taira partially inlaid with coral & turquoise and with a lotus base, mounted on a further stepped base in Wood with gold-leaf over umber clay to both soapstone and wood. Age related wear to stone, lacquer, gold-leaf and wood; small gold-leaf and lacquer chips to stone revealing detail carving underneath. Total height 21 3/8 inches (54.5 cm.). Width at base 15 inches ( 38 cm.). PROVENANCE: Estate of a respected 20th/21st Century New Jersey Chinese Art Collector.
