Finely Carved Late Qing Hongmu Settee or Bench with a long arm rail held up with 5 well carved and pierced splats of a Phoenix &Peonies, mythological animals & Birds, and flowers & bamboo, the seat a solid plank of well figured hongmu with a skirt to front and both sides, the front carved & pierced with another animal & Bird, the sides with flowers, with Dragon Head Ball & Claw front feet. Good condition. Joints with age related shrinkage, a few cracks and slightly loose; small minor wood losses. Width of seat at front 51 inches (129.5 cm.). Height to seat 16 1/2 inches ( cm.). Height to back 34 inches (86.5 cm.). Depth 22 inches ( 56 cm.). PROVENANCE: The Property of a longtime Adirondack Chinese Art Collector.
