臂搁呈卷书式，选材顺直，包浆莹润，古意盎然。器身正面镌浅刻玉兰，刀笔精湛，化繁为简，极尽玉兰淡雅脱俗之神韵。臂搁背面则阴刻篆书，字体古朴雅致。刀法简洁，运用自如。或平刀直入，或薄刀轻披，深浅浓淡，勾勒烘托，变化万千，真所谓“神明于规矩之中，变化于规矩之外，有笔所不能到，而刀可能得之”。 款识:1.梅邻 2.煇亭一兄大人之玩，吴航星海。
