|老红木座。天然灵璧石，多面可视，形如云卷，灵飞若动，曲折盘绕，如伏若踞。色黑如漆，光湛莹朗，质如腊脂，间有白脉纹理，温润如玉。石面沟壑纵横，遍布皴皱，中有透空接连的巉岩孔洞，曲折幽微，引人入胜。扣击之，锵然有声，响韵悠扬，如玉磬共鸣。观此灵璧，则顽、拙、丑、怪、灵、巧、秀、奇之美，兼而有之，数百中无一二矣。采石灵璧以为清赏，起于唐，盛于宋，以其品贵，视若拱璧，徇为历代文人雅士所致力购求，明人文震亨《长物志》〈品石〉：「石以灵璧为上，英石次之，二种品甚贵，购之颇艰。大者尤不易得，高踰数尺者便属奇品，小者可置几案间。色如漆，声如玉者最佳。」（注释1）
