此摆件以黄铜为材范铸而成，作两童子嬉戏之状。孩童头绾童子髻，身着广袖长袍，五官雕琢精致写实，前额饱满，眉弓压深，杏目微启，眉鼻相连，颧骨较高，大耳贴于面颊两侧，是典型的明末清初童子的特征。两童子满脸含笑，神采奕奕，一童子身体后仰，席地而坐，右手举起，手拖一禽鸟，另一童子双腿左右开弓，身躯前俯，一手扶另一童子肩，一手其捉袖，望向手中之鸟，似有所羁。整器构思巧妙，人物神态刻绘到位，动态交代惟妙惟肖，包浆老道，不失为一件清早期的案头陈设佳品。
