班禅，为西藏佛教格鲁派（黄教）中大活佛，与达赖并列的两大宗教领袖之一。班，梵语班智达（pandita）的略称，意为博学之士；禅，藏语意为大；班禅意为大班智达，即大学者。此尊双手降魔印，跏趺端坐于双层仰覆莲座之上。面容圆润，慈眉善目。身着坎肩、僧裙，外披僧氅并满花纹，衣纹流畅，略显厚重。莲座双层莲瓣，扁而宽。整尊造像，线条简洁明快，保存完好。
