A 19th Century French mahogany, parquetry and gilt metal mounted rectangular commode:, surmounted by a panel of breche violette marble with projecting cut corners, containing two long drawers with kingwood crossbanded parquetry decoration, repeated on the sides, between canted angles, with applied acanthus, pendant husk and flowerhead ornament and with similar central decoration to the apron base, on square tapered legs, terminating in sabots, 94cm (3ft 1in) wide.
