A 19th Century French kingwood, tulipwood marquetry and gilt metal mounted serpentine fronted secretaire:, the cavetto moulded top surmounted by a panel of white marble, decorated throughout with an Arabesque marquetry of scrolling foliate designs in tulipwood, having a frieze drawer and hinged fall below enclosing a coromandel lined interior with fixed shelf, four small shaped front drawers and plush inset writing surface, having four drawers below between rounded stiles with applied gilt metal foliate scroll and palmette designs, having quarter veneered serpentine sides, on a plinth base with gilt metal moulding, 72cm (2ft 4 1/2in) wide, 141cm (4ft 7 1/2in) high.
