Description

癞瓜是果中珍品，别名锦荔枝，明代徐光启《农政全书》卷五二“锦荔枝”云：“锦荔枝，又名癞葡萄，……状似荔枝而大，生青熟黄，内有红瓤，味甜。” 中医认为此果“性温，其子苦甘，内藏真火，故能壮阳益气。”民间还认为此果象征多子多福，《广群芳谱》卷六三“锦荔枝”引《本草》：“仁宗时，陈尧佐母入宫，太后赐以锦荔支，遂连皮食之，宫人多讪笑。夫人对曰：‘往年梦食此物，遂生尧佐，后又梦如初，遂生尧叟。’时仁宗尚无皇嗣，于是皇后及宫人相率竟食，后举皇子二人。”
