A 1920's four piece silver tea service, including a teapot, hot water pot, twin-handled sugar bowl and cream jug, each of octagonal sided form with reeded rims and raised upon conforming pedestal bases, the teapot and hot water pot with ebonised scroll capped handles and carved finials. Hallmarked James Deakin & Sons (John & William F Deakin), Sheffield 1929. Height of hot water pot measuring 10 inches (25.5 cm), gross weight 64.9 ozt (2021 grams). In fair to good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The spout of the hot water pot appears off centre, with multiple creases underneath the main rim. The hinged lid of the teapot does not sit flush and overlaps slightly, the spout has an area of hardened contact marks, similar marks seen on the lid of the hot water pot. All pieces would benefit from a clean and polish. Maker's marks slightly rubbed, other hallmarks clear and legible.
