赏盘以瓷为胎，其胎骨纤薄坚致，于莹白温润之釉面上绘设蝶恋花图。画中花朵数枝自外壁蜿蜒而入盘内，横欹而出，吐萼含苞，风姿绰约，铺陈出新月形构图，而盘之左上方则以极大的留白空间映衬出布局虚实结合之妙。数只蝴蝶闻花而来，其画笔清秀细腻，设色淡雅逸丽，尽显秋风中摇曳俯仰之姿，画意之雅犹如和风拂面，醉人心扉。 本品布局构图之妙见于“过枝”技法之运用。过枝又称“过墙”，即花绘布局将碗盘内和外壁相连通，图案自盘外壁攀延过盘边伸展铺陈于盘心，使内外图案既独立成章又浑然一体。
