题识：仲陶先生正，让之。钤印：熙载之印
释文：或有鄙其所作，或乃矜其所运。自矜者将穷性域，绝于诱进之途；自鄙者尚屈情涯，必有可通之理。嗟乎，盖有学而不能，未有不学而能者也。考之即事，断可明焉。然消息多方，性情不一，乍刚柔以合体，忽劳逸而分驱。或恬淡雍容，内涵筋骨，或折挫槎枒，外曜锋芒。说明：上款人仲陶即岑镕，字仲陶，又字铜士，江苏江都人。收藏金石颇富，为吴让之好友。吴为陶刻印最多。吴熙载（1799-1870）原名廷扬，字熙载，后改字让之，号让翁、晚学居士、方竹丈人等，江苏仪征人。清代篆刻家、书法家，包世臣的入室弟子。
