A JAPANESE SETO WARE ISHIZARA DISH EDO 1615-1868 The body with a creamy crackled glaze, the well delicately painted with a stylised willow tree, its branches depicted in dark brown and the long tear-shaped leaves in Prussian blue, with five spur marks amongst the design, the glaze stopping short of the foot, 26cm. Cf. The University of Michigan Museum of Art, acc. n.1963/2.2, for another Ishizara Seto dish with a design of bamboo and with comparable spur marks to the well.
