|说明：清代满族以马上得天下之后，为保持军队战斗力而经常举行狩猎活动，尤其是皇帝四季狩猎皆有固定名称，春天为“春签”，夏天行“夏苗”，秋天“举秋”，冬天是“冬狩”。此笔筒雕刻西山狩猎之景。松木之下，三人驾驭骏马追猎一只猛虎。骏马皆伏头狂奔，马上三人拉弓射箭，或箭在弦上，或已射中猛虎。雕刻手法多样，背景大刀阔斧，亦张亦驰，运斤生风，而人物松木等主体则细致入微。构图经营巧妙，疏密有致。
