|说明： 水盂竹根随形雕成。一牧童半坐半卧于水牛背上，左手执竹笛，右手揽缰绳。水牛俯首屈膝作承接状，憨态可掬。整器竹纹细密，甚似牛毛，颇为巧妙。此器色泽醇厚，造型生动可爱，细部刀工精湛。通观全器，细微之处尽显精雕之工，一丝一毫均为神来之笔，人物姿态生动可见，表达意境惬意悠然，为清新脱俗之佳品。童子牧牛包蕴无限诗意与禅趣。宋代词人晁补之《满庭芳》云：“社中客，禅心古井无波。我似渊明逃社，怡颜盼，百尺庭柯。牛闲放，溪童任懒，吾已废鞭蓑。”童子牧牛为当时流行的禅宗象喻，以“牛闲放”谓平常心。此摆件表现出牧童天真烂漫、悠然自得的神态，创造了一种疏淡的境界，趣意盎然。
