Two maiolica tiles from the castle of Breda, attr. to the Guido Andries workshop, Antwerp, 1535-1550 Dim.: ca. 13 x 18 cm (the blue and yellow fragment)Dia.: ca. 10,5 cm (the round tile) Provenance: The collection of Piet Swimberghe, art historian and author of various works and articles on the subject of European pottery. These tiles were produced for the castle of Breda, ca. 1535, constructed by Hendrik III van Nassau. They are usually attributed to the Antwerp workshop of Guido Andries.
