|此件青玉插屏小巧精致，应为文房砚屏类。屏心长方形，青玉材质，玉质温润细腻。采用浮雕技法雕海水云龙纹，两龙首首相对，一龙辗转腾挪于云气之间，一龙潜于惊涛骇浪之中。巨龙身披细鳞，身形矫健，昂首藏身，脑后鬃鬣飞扬，四肢伸蹬有力，张牙瞠目，形象威猛无比，极富有张力。画面构图饱满，纹饰变化细腻丰富，雕琢精巧，极尽精微。|砚屏是文房四宝的衍生品，形制与独扇式座屏相同，但形体较小，常置几案上以障风尘、防止墨干。明代晚期常见的家具陈设格局，是以八仙桌为中心，对称布置家具，靠北墙放平头案、翘头案或架几案，其上经常有祖宗的灵位，佛教或道教神灵塑像和各种礼仪用具或者陈放砚屏、花瓶等装饰用品。此砚屏古朴典雅，雕工精湛，为文房佳器。
