观世音菩萨，亦称“观自在菩萨”，为佛教八大菩萨之一。她以大悲大慈的救度之力著称于世。据说，逢难者只要念诵其名号，观音菩萨就会及时出现，救度其苦难，因此被世人广为礼赞和崇敬。此尊头挽贵妇发髻，佩戴缠头巾。面庞方正，额头高广，容貌慈悲。躯体柔软，肌体顺滑，着通肩垂领长衣，衣褶婉转流畅，自然生动。双手拢于衣袖之中，双腿呈游戏坐于莲座之上。整像气韵生动，刻画简约，寥寥几下就将观音的慈悲、智慧、救度表现地淋漓尽致，实属难得！
