Description

罗汉，是阿罗汉的简称，是佛陀得法弟子的修证果位。罗汉者皆身心六根清净，已了脱生死，证入涅盘。他们于寿命未尽前，仍住世间，随缘教化度众，其中最为著名的就是十八罗汉。罗汉头部硕大，光洁无发，额头高广，双目低垂，鼻梁挺直，嘴含微笑。上身着交领僧衣，左手置于台座之上，右手自然垂搭，手中持有念珠。双腿呈现游戏姿态，下承山岩台座。整像胎体厚重，做工精细，硕大的头部、端正的五官、平缓的躯体线条，都是明代内地佛教造像常见的造型特征，堪称明代中后期内地造像的经典作品。
