硯屏是中國的傳統工藝，為屏風的一種，其形制與獨扇式座屏相同，但體積較小，常置几案上，用作陳列、擺設，多以玉、石、漆木為屏。這種硯屏據說出現於北宋時期，比起實用的功能來，更多還是起到一種滿足文人清玩趣味的作用。此硯屏攢紫檀木框，有棱有角，四方周正，氣質硬朗。屏沿、束腰、支腳遍飾如意紋樣，寓意祥瑞，屏心兩側表現為夔龍相對攀雲而上，充滿韻動之感，中間繩紋成結，中心部挖空嵌玉，為一人蹲坐在柱上之造型，充滿古韻。深邃沉穩的紫檀與光潔溫潤的嵌玉在此器上形成了絕佳的搭配，突出文雅淡泊的崇高品味。参阅：《故宫博物院藏文物珍品大系文玩》第253页《Arts from the Scholar's Studio》第203页
