A SANDSTONE TORSO OF A MALE FIGURE, Cambodia, Khmer, Angkor Vat period, 12th ct. Standing in samabhanga with naked upper body incised with a belly-button, wearing vertical striated sampot secured with a belt carved with a double row of oval medallions, a section of his cloth falling over his left leg and a double fish-tail shaped flange falling down, the skirt drawn between his legs and draped over his belt forming a butterfly-shaped ornament. - Property from a German private collection, acquired in HK on 10 Nov 1989 - One a stone base - Very minor chips and wear
