明末清初之际，慕古之风盛行。商鼎周尊造型开始出现在上层社会的装饰器物中，并成为文房清供之佳物。乾隆晚年将宫中所藏铜器著录于书，亲自主持编篡《西清古鉴》、《宁寿鉴古》、《西清续鉴甲编》和《西清续鉴乙编》四书，极大地推动了金石学研究的发展和慕古之风的盛行。 拍品器型古朴，包浆厚重，双耳及四足皆内敛，含蓄稳重。器身四面浮雕四季花卉纹，刻琢细腻精湛，线条刚柔并济，游刃有致。此件作品虽造型仿自商周青铜鼎，但纹饰风格极具时代特征，殊为难得。
