|圈椅由海南黄花梨老料制就，椅圈五拼，靠背板微曲分三段装板而成，上部浮雕螭纹。后退与扶手支架的转折处镶雕花牙子，并辅以铜制构件，坐面前沿做出壶门曲边，前后腿交接处用黄铜轴钉固定，足下带托泥，两前腿间装镶铜饰脚踏，全器型稳重、端庄，极富明式风格。可视为明代交椅的最基本形式。圆后背交椅在古代多设在中堂显着位置，是显示特殊身份的座具。明代书籍版画插图中，常有主角一人独坐室中，其余人等只能站立旁边的场面。俗语“第一把交椅”的说法，即阐明了交椅的尊贵地位。此椅雕工精美雅致，气势非凡，尤其在各榫卯交接处加以金属片包裹，具有良好的承受力。
