|此砚取大块石材雕成，圆浑饱满，石呈褐色，纯净无瑕，细腻柔嫩，触手生晕，为眉纹歙砚上品佳石。砚随形雕成卧兔状，兔身处微微凹陷，作为砚堂，兔回首，神情温顺可爱。歙砚与端砚一样始于唐代，宋唐积《歙州砚谱》记载：“婺源砚。在唐开元中，猎人叶氏逐兽至长城里，见叠石如城磊状，莹洁可爱，因携之归，刊出成砚，温润大过端溪。”明清时期采量减少，大多作为贡品产出。
