胡人戏狮题材，始见于唐朝，流行于盛唐，常见于漆器，玉器或者铜炉上。熏炉整体铸成胡人戏狮状，雄狮四肢健硕矫捷，交错前行，侧身回首，双目圆睁，张口露利齿，气势威武强悍，颈系铃铛，又显得温驯服从。鬃髯卷曲，盘旋如螺髻。尾部及腿际鬃毛随风飘展，雕刻入微，丝丝毕现。一胡人踞坐于雄狮后背，顾盼相望，妙趣横生。胡人深目高鼻，络腮胡须，头顶如意形帽，身着胡服，脚踏长靴，似在张口高喝，左手高举，正挥舞戏狮，动感十足。
