款识：“桐谷” |说明：砚作瓦型，开蝉样池，砚堂平整，墨池深挖，以端石入砚，器形端庄，背刻隶书铭文，包浆浑厚，精致典雅。|配红木盒。|简介：桐谷山人：原名吴尚懋，字容卿，号桐谷，吴荣光胞弟弥光之子。道光二十三年91843）进士，官吴川县教谕。道光十五年（1845），吴弥光曾偕子尚德、尚懋到湖南探望任上的吴荣光，亲聆其教诲。尚懋品行雅逸，善弹古琴，有五柳先生之风。画工花卉草虫，点缀多逸笔。著有《闻思修慧时室诗钞》。
