孟臣原名惠孟臣，约为明代天启到清代康熙年间人士，荆溪人，著名壶艺名家。拍品提梁壶小器大样，以小见拙，古朴庄重，壶呈栗色，包浆浑厚，壶身作圆筒形，由下向上渐敛，穹形壶盖，狮形盖钮，壶一侧刻绘老梅数枝，另侧刻阴文“瓶笙听罢，钵韵催来”，落款“孟臣”，以竹刀刻划，行笔飘逸流畅，有超然物外之风。
